Letter from the Holland District Foundation
Letter from the Holland District Foundation

Dear Holland District Ruritans & Friends:

Your Holland District Ruritan Foundation continues to grow and meet on a quarterly basis. At the July meeting, the Board was briefed on the results from the Foundation Golf Tournament that was held on May 17, 2019 in Suffolk. Thanks to all of our sponsors, players and volunteers that supported this annual event. Through your generosity, over $5,000 was raised, which will further support the endeavors and mission of the Holland District Ruritan Foundation. Please plan for this tournament again in May 2020.
We are pleased to announce that the re-dedication of the Dr. J. M. Bland marker located in Boykins, VA. will be held on September 12, 2019. Through the financial support of the Bland family and the Holland District Ruritan Foundation, funds were appropriated to make this project a reality. What a fitting tribute to our first Ruritan National President!
The board will meet again in mid-October to discuss our annual giving to the local charities throughout the Holland District. If you have any ideas or suggestions that would benefit the Foundation, please feel free to contact any member of the Board. Current members are Jimmie Copeland, Jim Henderson, Phyllis Lewter, Murray Turner and Woody Dunn Jr.
Remember that your Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and your club or individual financial support is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for your continued services.

Woody Dunn Jr.
Foundation President
