Mildred Umphlett Kirsch, 88, passed away peacefully June 21, 2015 in her home.
Mrs. Kirsch, a native of Gates, N.C., was the widow of Joseph M. Kirsch, Sr. since his death in 1996. She had worked as a registered nurse. She was a member of Indiana United Methodist Church and a member of the Deep Creek Ruritan Club.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Kirsch and wife Kathleen, and Thomas Wayne Kirsch; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Susan Kirsch; and “adopted son” David Oliver. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Carl David Kirsch.
Friends may join the family Tuesday, June 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett’s Creek Chapel, Suffolk. A funeral service will be held at Baker-Foster Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
