William J. Kline, Sr., 76, of Chesapeake, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Palmerton, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret Hoffman Kline and was also predeceased by his brother, Robert H. Kline. Raised in Tamaqua, he was a 1956 graduate of Tamaqua High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran stationed in Argentia, Newfoundland. In 1960, Bill began a 40-year career as a Customer Service Agent/Manager with U.S. Airways, formerly Allegheny Airlines. He was an active member of the Great Bridge Ruritan Club.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Barbara Cross Kline; a daughter, Carole Crawford and husband Steve; a son, William J. Kline, Jr. and wife Ann Marie; grandchildren Lauren, Billy III, and Lindsey; and a great-grandson, Salvador, as well as loving nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at the funeral home. The interment will be at a later date in the Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sentara Hospice Service, 535 Independence Parkway, Suite 200 Chesapeake, VA 23320.
