Marvin C. Etheridge, 97, passed away at home on August 18, 2017. He was born August 1, 1920, to the late Clifford T. and Mary Anne Etheridge. Marvin was a long-time farmer in Princess Anne County/Virginia Beach. He was a charter member of the Creeds Ruritan Club and a member of the Creeds Volunteer Rescue Squad for 25+ years. Marvin had been a member of Oak Grave Baptist Church since the age of 12.

Marvin is predeceased by his only sister, Beulah E. Freeman. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Frances M. Etheridge; a daughter, Ann Ansell (Elwin); three sons, Keith (Carol), Marvin II (Ann), and Kenneth Etheridge; six grandchildren, Brian Ansell (Jennifer), Meredith Ansell (Derek), Mike Etheridge (Shelly), Katie Etheridge, Brandon Etheridge (Makayla), and Molly Etheridge; five great-grandchildren, O’Ryan, Mya, Gracie, Jacob, and Thomas; and step-grandchildren, Amber (Hany) SalahEldeen and Dan Brady. He also leaves three nephews, Gerald, Gary, and Glenn Freeman, and brother-in-law Johnnie (Rae) Williams.

The family will receive friends and family at the multipurpose building adjoining Oak Grove Baptist Church, 691 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA, on Monday, August 21 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 22, at 11:00 am at Oak Grove Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the multipurpose building.
