Greetings Holland District Ruritans & Friends:
Your Holland District Ruritan Foundation Board met in October and approved various charitable donations to several organizations that service those throughout the Holland District. Thank you to all of the Zone Governors and others who responded to our request for suggestions for this annual endeavor.
We were briefed on the status of our investment performance through the 3rd quarter of 2019 and are pleased to report that all of these investments have experienced growth. Special thanks goes to our two financial strategists on the board – Jim Henderson and Jimmie Copeland. In addition, a recent audit of our Foundation treasury was conducted and we received a clean report on those findings.
We also discussed several clubs who are not current on their Ruritan National dues. This impacts the District too, as the District receives a portion of these dues back from Ruritan National, but only if the clubs pay their dues on a quarterly basis as outlined in our Constitution and By-Laws. Please, if your club owes dues for 2019, try to make every effort to bring these dues up to date before December 1. All 2019 dues are now payable, as we have already entered the 4th quarter. If you have any questions on this, please contact our national Treasurer, David Thompson.
The board will meet again in mid-January to discuss our officer positions and investment goals for 2020. If you have any ideas or suggestions that would benefit the Foundation, please feel free to contact any member of the Board. Current members are Jimmie Copeland, Jim Henderson, Phyllis Lewter, Murray Turner and Woody Dunn Jr.
Remember that your Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and your club or individual financial support is welcomed and appreciated. Please remember the Foundation as you consider whom to financially support in the coming months. Thanks for the positive impact you and your club are making in your respective communities.
Woody Dunn Jr.
