Remembering Keith Wylie Davis

DAVIS, Keith Wylie, 59, of Jarratt, Va., passed away on December 13, 2018. Keith was born in Chase City, Va., to Charlie Lee Davis and Ethel Pulley Davis on August 6, 1959.

Upon graduating from high school, Keith attended Longwood University and Virginia Commonwealth University, obtaining bachelor's and master's degrees in social work. From there, he began a 36-year career with the Virginia Department of Corrections. Keith was a former member of the Burkeville, Va. Town Council and Burkeville Ruritan Club. Most recently, he was the Secretary of Sappony Ruritan Club and a Sunday school teacher at Main Street Baptist Church in Emporia, Va. He was an avid organic gardener, jokester and Washington Redskins fan.

He is survived by wife, Carole; daughter, Leary; mother, Ethel; brothers, Ronnie (Dotti) and Todd (Neta); brothers-in-law, Wilson and Doug (Patricia); and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 2 p.m., at Main Street Baptist Church, in Emporia, Va. Please come with stories to share! He had been a member of Sappony Club since December 2005.
