Knotts Island Smoked Pork Butt Sale
The Knotts Island Ruritan Club is selling smoked pork butts.
Tickets are $20.00 per butt (average 5-7 pounds) pre-sale only with cut off date of 7/18/2010.
Pick up is 7/24/10 from 2:00PM-4:00PM at the Ruritan Park. Ask about sauce when you buy your ticket.

30th Annual Founders Day
I would like to thank all Ruritans that participated in Founders’ Day weekend celebrating our 82nd anniversary of community service. Nineteen teams made up the golf tournament on Friday sharing great Ruritan fellowship. Meherrin Ruritan reclaimed the 1st place golf trophy. Saturday consisted of all day festivities beginning with the wreath laying and concluding with our evening banquet. The Western Branch club claimed the peoples choice 1st place award for the second year in a row in the BBQ cook-off. Again, thanks to all that helped make this weekend successful.
Progress is defined as steady improvement, so lets make our 83rd year better than ever!!
